I`m glad that You want to see pictures, it´s rather difficult to take photo of black cats so we have not so many good.

They are medium size, a female about 3 - 3.5 kg and a male 4 - 4.5 kg

About 5 years.
It´s a long story but I´ll takel the short version
My boys wanted a cat, we bought a male house cat, he was black. After a few month we think he should have a friend, of couse a black buddy.
I searched on internet and saw Bombay and I was stuck.

The breed was extremely (is) rare, so it was difficult to find a breeder. Fortunately, there was one in Sweden and after a number of phone calls I was approved so I had to buy a kitten

As far as I know to get the Bombay you first bred ASH and Burmese together since the Burmese can not form the black due to genetic determinations (the burmese gene cbcb is a kind of albinism version). So you usually have heterozygous Bombay who bring both, black and brown Bombays..

There is a Bombay breeder here in Bielefeld and I visited him some time ago. He has Bombays from Sweden (Stagelights Neo, I think), one from Australia, some from the Swiss.. He demonstrated me a lot about the different Bombay types..

But let me know: Did you have had any problems with the head defect or heard it from special lines?

If you like to start to breed Bombays you have to decide if you are going to deal with the Head Defect or not. To us the choise was obvious, we only breed traditional Bombays. The Head Defect can be found in the contemporary cats (burmeses or Bombays)
The problem is that if someone mix a contemporary and traditional Bombay, the Head Defect gene can be inherritated in a traditional looking cat without showing as it is a recessive gene. You need to read the pedigrees very careful.
The breeder in Bielefeld is very good at reading pedigrees and he know exactly what to avoid. He has learned us a lot. 😛

Stagelight´s is a trustworthy burmese breeder in US. We have got Stagelight´s Zanella and Stagelight´s Yaz from that cattery.

They look like my ideal cat! But we've been lucky enough to end up with an ordinary kitten which pretty much fits this description except for a tiny white patch, right down to the weight and not loosing hair except for two weeks a year, and thus not causing any reactions in our usually allergic friends... 😉

It really is an ideal cat a mixture of cat, dog and monkey.

The Bombays are ready to move

A little bit sad but the kittens are 12 weeks and ready to move to they new families.
All four are tough so they will do well and we know they will live with good families

I think they have
One of the females lives with her new family in Germany, not far from Dresden.
We now they love the new family member a lot.
