So, jetzt habe ich OnlyCats mal meine Fragen gestellt und folgende Antworten am Sonntag innerhalb von kürzester Zeit bekommen.
------------------------------------------------------
I have some questions regarding your product.
1. How long does the detection take when the cat enters and is the flap blocked during this time?
This means the time starting with cat entering tunnel up to latest opening of the mechanism. I own a Sureflapcare connect and this one is pretty fast. Lower than one second)
2. How long does the flap block after prey has been detected and how often?
3. Is it possible to set allowance times for individual cats and/or turn them completely into house cats? In particular, schedules when individual cats are allowed to go out.
4. Is there any time that cats have to wait if they want to pass the door to go out?
5. Can the flap also be temporarily locked for all cats?
6. Could you tell me the false detection rates? (false positive and false negative)
7. Is the basis of this door a Surepetcare Catflap connect? Because this is the same size as our existing one.
8. Is it possible to control the flap locally or remote via VPN? Or will the flap turn useless if the cloud service doesn´t exist anymore.
9. Can this CatFlap coexist with already bought SurePetcare hub with Catfeeders and Felaqua?
10. Is it possible to see if a cat left and entered the house.
11: Is it planned to have a German distribution? Just because I have to pay customs fee if I buy goods from GB.
I would like to post these answers in an internet forum to inform potential customers.
I would be happy if you could answer my questions

Die Antworte waren:
hank you for your interest in OnlyCat and for your excellent questions.
1. We’re very proud of our detection time—it’s around 0.2 seconds, approximately the duration of a human eye blink. It’s the microchip reading that actually takes the longest—around one second, as in the case of the SureFlap (we reuse the same hardware for microchip reading).
If you go to the
reviews section on our website, you’ll see many examples of entries. You can look at the padlock symbol at the top right corner to see the lock state synced with the video. Most of these are examples of rejected entries, but there’s also one of an accepted entry.
2. When prey has been detected, the cat flap locks until the end of the ‘event’—which is once there has been no motion for 10 seconds. If the cat comes back 10 seconds later with no prey, they’ll be allowed in. If they come back after 10 seconds with prey, we’re confident it’ll be detected again, so we don’t need a long lockout.
3. Yes, we support Door Policies, which are rules for which cats can enter and exit and when. These can include time-based curfews with individual per-cat control.
4. Cats can exit immediately upon approaching. There may be a slight hesitation to read the cat’s chip if this is required to allow exit. This is a second or so, in line with the SureFlap.
5. Yes—you can configure multiple Door Policies and switch between them whenever you like—for example, you can switch to one that locks the cat flap or locks a particular cat in.
6. Sure—we’re happy to be completely transparent with our stats. Attached are specificity (false positive) and sensitivity (false negative) trends over the last 30 days.
You’ll see that missed detections (false negatives) are very rare. We detect around 99.6% of prey, meaning we miss around 4 in 1,000. This will continue to improve as such examples are integrated into the training data.
Our false positives are currently a little higher than we’d like. They’re around 20%—meaning that one in every five prey alerts is a false alarm. You’ll see that 90 days ago we were doing better (~10% false positives), but this has declined. The reason for this has been the introduction of many new cats and environments, some of which have markings that are reminiscent of previous examples of prey. As we continue to iterate the model training, the accuracy will continue to climb. For the majority of cats, false positives are very infrequent, and every prey is detected.

7. We’re based on the Sure Petcare DualScan Cat Flap, not the Connect version, as our Wi-Fi connectivity supersedes the Connect features without the need for a hub.
8. We’re looking to build a local API/MQTT client and are starting to work with the home automation community on an open-source Home Assistant plugin for OnlyCat. Note that this isn’t available yet, as we’re first polishing up the app for more casual customers—but our philosophy is to open the platform as much as possible.
The cat flap will continue to work without cloud connectivity, as all processing happens locally, but until our local API is available, settings can only be changed via our app through our cloud service.
9. OnlyCat can coexist with SureFlap products, but there is currently no integration between these.
10. At the moment, you can see all entries and exits in the app, including accompanying videos. In future software updates, we’ll add better filters to show recent activity for specific cats and better on-screen, glanceable information about which cats are in/out.
11. Once we’ve caught up production with demand, we plan to make OnlyCat available on Amazon.de. In the meantime, we will cover all customs fees, so you pay no more than the headline price.
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Kind regards,
